Veeram is a 2017 Indian epic historical drama film written and directed by Jayaraj. The film is produced by Chandramohan D. Pillai under the banner of Chandrakala Arts. It features Kunal Kapoor and Divina Thakur in the leading roles along with Shivajith Nambiar, Aaran, Himarsha Venkatsami and Satheesh Menon in pivotal supporting roles. The film has music composed by Jeff Rona. Veeram is an adaptation of William Shakespeare’s play, Macbeth. The film, which also takes inspirations from the Vadakkan Pattukal of North Malabar region in Kerala tells the story of Chandu Chekavar.
