Mani Ratnam’s O Kadhal Kanmani to release on 17th April

OK-Kanmani-releaseCount on Mani Ratnam at all times to go against the tide. After deciding to release his latest film O KadhalKanmani in the third week of April, Mani didn’t do so on 14th April, the auspicious Tamil New Year Day, but is releasing the film a couple of days later on 17th April.
Dulquer Salmaan of Vaayai Moodi Pesavum fame, who is also the son of Malayalam meagastar Mammootty, plays the hero in this romantic venture opposite Nithya Menen.
Other in the cast include Prakash Raj, Leela Samson,Prabhu Lakshman and popular television anchorRamya Subramanian. Kanika and B.V. Doshi have essayed cameos in the film which has music by A.R. Rahman.
The audio of the film was released on the midnight of last Friday. Mani Ratnam’s last two films in Kadal and Raavanan were box-office disasters and the director is looking to make up for the twin disasters with O Kadhal Kanmani. Insiders say on condition of anonymity that the film is a typical romantic venture on the lines of Mani Ratnam’s earlier film Alaipayuthey which released in 2000.
P.C. Sreeram is the film’s cinematographer. A song and a teaser released recently met with huge response from fans on the Net. The film is now releasing in theatres worldwide on 17th April.
