16 years after her debut, Trisha gets paired up opposite Prashanth

thumbnailTrisha debuted in Tamil films as heroine Simran’s friend in a minor role in the Prashanth-Simran starrer Jodi in 1999. She later went on to make her debut as heroine with Mounam Pesiyadhe opposite Suriya. Though Prashanth was the hero of her first film, Trisha hasn’t bee paired up opposite him all these years.
Trisha now gets to pair up opposite Prashanth in an upcoming film which would be the Tamil remake of the successful Hindi film Special 26 which released in February, 2013 and starred Akshay Kumar, Manoj Bajpayee, Anupam Kher and Kajal Aggarwal in lead roles. The film recorded huge collections at the box-office and joined the Rs.100-crore club in terms of theatrical collections.
Thiagarajan, actor-director father of Prashanth, has acquired the remake rights of the film in Tamil, Telugu and Kannada languages. It is said that while Prashahth would play the lead role in the Tamil version, Ravi Teja would play the lead role in the Telugu version. Trisha has been roped in to play the role essayed by Kajal Aggarwal in the original version.
Thiagarajan, knonwn for his meticulous planning, is said to have drawn up a shooting schedule plan by which he plans to wrap up the shoot of the film before Trisha’s marriage which is just a few months away.
